Product Description
Louis de Poortere rug Vintage 8101 Black And White, patchwork style rugs inspired by an eclectic mix of designs from the East, combined with original European archives of the 18th century.
Louis de Poortere can draw on over a century of skill and craftsmanship of creating stunning rugs, all designed and produced in Belgium. People are seeking beauty, elegance, comfort and value for their homes so their designers and technicians create collections that are modern, accessible and crafted to bring the utmost pleasure. And because tastes are unique, they commit to bold concepts that bring the ultimate in sophistication to your floorcovering.
The new Ecorug collection has moved to a monomaterial polyester construction, that gives a guarantee that their rugs are not only high quality, but also fully recyclable.
Flatwoven and approx. 3mm in thickness. The edges are folded and stitched so these are 7mm thickness – the perfect choice for under tables or chairs.
Every part of a Louis de Poortere Swim River rug is made from polyester. By creating a 100% mono-material construction, the need to separate materials is eliminated and and makes it easier to recycle Ecorugs at the end of their life.
In terms of durability, polyester fibres are stronger and more durable than cotton. In fact, when the wear of new Ecorugs is compared with a cotton construction, it was found that cotton wears out three times more under the same usage. The use of 100% polyester means a longer rug life and less frequent replacement.
Polyester is endlessly recyclable without degradation in quality, giving the potential to adopt a circular product model in the future. Recycling polyester means Louis de Poortere can extend the life of the materials used, reducing demand for new raw materials.
