Product Description
One of the most influential textile artists of the 20th century, Anni Albers began her career at the Bauhaus, where – prevented from studying other disciplines as a woman – she took up weaving under the tutelage of Gunta Stölzl.
This kickstarted a lifelong passion for the tactile and aesthetic possibilities of textiles and led her to the US, where she became the first textile artist to be honoured with a show at the Museum of Modern Art – and the most famous weaver of the modern age.
CF Editions collaborates with some of the world’s most interesting and iconic artists and designers, both past and present. Every rug is fabricated to the most exacting standards.
All designs are produced with the relevant institution estate or artist closely involved in the whole process, in the same way as when producing limited edition prints, to ensure that the end result is as faithful to the original work as possible.
Established in 1988, Christopher Farr has been at the spearhead of contemporary rug design for over thirty years.
Rather like limited edition prints, CF Editions are translated from original artworks and fabricated to the most exacting standards with the artist or artist’s estate, guided by the technical expertise of the Christopher Farr design team to translate the original artwork as faithfully as possible. Through collaborating with the most interesting and iconic artists and designers, CF Editions is an opportunity to build your own art collection with pieces that can be enjoyed everyday; functionally and aesthetically in one.
